I made a series of cups as souvenirs for my daughter and here friends for schoolies. The idea was that people might use them and then take home the one that most related to them.

Abandoned selves - ceramic works

This work is from a series called abandoned selves which explores the choices we make in life and the selves that could have been, that we discard or leave behind. Works in other mediums form part of this series. The other works are paintings in acrylic and watercolour and artist's books. The work has not been exhibited yet.

plates and wall hanging

My current art practice uses Alice as a metaphor for the adolescent journey. The works express meaning through the use of text language, oral language and a complex symbolism. The characters from Lewis Carrol’s stories are rewoven into new stories and dialogues that present other readings of wonderland.
Using handbuilding techniques, I work with recycled clay which has more character. The decoration is made with slips and underglazes.
